How a QR menu works in a hotel
Each room has its own QR code - on a bedside card, the desk or the wardrobe door. The guest scans it with the phone camera, picks a language and opens the menu in the browser, with no app and no login. The menu shows photos, ingredients, portion weight and prices, and room service has its own categories: breakfast in the room, hot dishes, drinks, the minibar.
Technically a room in User-QR is a table: it can carry a number that matches the room number (for example, 305) and a label, and floors are set up as halls. An order from a room arrives either in the admin panel in real time, where staff accept it and mark it delivered, or as a ready message in WhatsApp with the room number - you choose the mode.
What matters specifically to a hotel
Hotel guests are often foreigners, business travellers and families who do not know the local cuisine and do not want to call reception to ask what is available. They need a clear menu in their own language or in English, and the hotel needs one tool for the restaurant, the bar and the rooms.
- “Restaurant”, “Bar” and “Room service” tabs - each with its own categories, prices and stop-list.
- Language choice on scanning and one-tap switching: Kazakh, Russian, English.
- Rooms and floors: every room has its own QR code, and the room number arrives with the order.
- Dish options: doneness, side, portion size, milk for coffee - no clarifications by phone.
- Guest feedback with a rating and photos arrives in Telegram, so service can be fixed before check-out.
- Hourly booking of a conference hall, banquet hall or meeting room on the Pro plan, with requests in Telegram.
The hotel restaurant for walk-in guests
A hotel restaurant and bar serve more than the people staying there. The Taplink page on the Pro plan is a one-link mini-site for the restaurant: menu, opening hours, map, WhatsApp and booking buttons, and a “Good to know” block for breakfast hours and house rules. It goes in the hotel's Instagram, on 2GIS and in the booking confirmation email.
If the hotel restaurant runs on Poster POS, the menu syncs from the POS and a guest at a restaurant table sees the current bill for that table. There is no online payment in the QR menu: the hotel takes payment the way it already does - in the restaurant, on delivery to the room or by its own rules.
How to launch a QR menu in a hotel
The restaurant and room service menu is usually ready in a day or two; printing the room cards takes the longest.
- 1
Register the hotel
A name and a phone number are enough to activate 14 days of the Pro plan with no card.
- 2
Create the menu tabs
Restaurant, bar and room service with their own categories; add dishes by hand, from Excel or by link from your previous service.
- 3
Set up rooms and floors
Each room is a table with the room number and a label, floors are halls; the system creates a QR code for every room.
- 4
Choose where orders arrive
In the admin panel in real time or as a WhatsApp message with the room number; send a test order from a room.
- 5
Print the cards
The QR code and a caption in Kazakh, Russian and English on a bedside card or a sign in the room.
A menu folder in the room or a QR menu
A printed room service menu sits in every room, so any price change means a print run for all rooms, often in two or three languages at once. Folders wear out and go missing, and guests still call reception to check what is available today. With a QR menu one edit shows in every room immediately, a sold-out dish is hidden in a second, and analytics show which items are ordered to rooms most often.
Pricing
A hotel with room service usually needs the Pro plan - 180 000 ₸ per year or 18 000 ₸ per 30 days: up to 100 rooms and tables with QR codes, unlimited items, hall booking, a Taplink page for the restaurant, delivery and Meta Pixel. If you have more than 100 rooms and tables, message us on WhatsApp - terms for larger projects are agreed individually. A small hotel with only a restaurant menu of up to 100 items and 10 tables is fine on Starter at 150 000 ₸ per year. Registration includes 14 days of Pro for free.
PricingMenus and the language law
Article 21 of the Kazakhstan Law “On Languages” requires menus and price lists in the state language and, where necessary, in Russian and other languages, in the same font size with an authentic translation. For a hotel with foreign guests that usually means three languages. On User-QR every item has Kazakh, Russian and English fields, so the restaurant and room service menu meets the requirement without a separate print run per language.

How does in-room ordering by QR code work?
Every room has its own QR code. The guest scans it, picks dishes with options and sends the order. It reaches staff with the room number - in the admin panel in real time or as a WhatsApp message, depending on the mode you chose. Staff accept the order and mark it delivered.
Which languages will the menu be in?
Kazakh, Russian and English. Every dish has separate name and description fields in three languages; guests choose the language when they scan and can switch it with one tap. Photos help guests who do not know the local cuisine.
Does it work for a hotel with more than 100 rooms?
The Pro plan includes up to 100 tables, and rooms in User-QR are set up as tables. If rooms plus restaurant tables add up to more than 100, message us on WhatsApp: terms for larger projects are agreed individually.
Can guests book a room through User-QR?
No. User-QR is not a room reservation system and is not connected to the hotel's PMS. On the Pro plan you can take hourly booking requests for halls - a conference hall, banquet hall or meeting room - with a calendar and notifications in Telegram.
How does the guest pay for an order?
There is no online payment in the QR menu: the menu passes on the order, and the hotel takes payment by its own rules - in the restaurant, on delivery to the room or otherwise. With the Poster POS integration a guest at a restaurant table sees the current bill for that table.
How much does a hotel QR menu cost?
Pro is 180 000 ₸ per year or 18 000 ₸ per 30 days: up to 100 rooms and tables, unlimited items, hall booking, a Taplink page and delivery. Starter is 150 000 ₸ per year or 15 000 ₸ per 30 days for a menu of up to 100 items and 10 tables. The first 14 days of Pro are free.
