In short
QR menus in Kazakhstan are usually paid for by subscription. On User-QR, Starter costs 150 000 ₸ per year or 15 000 ₸ per 30 days and Pro 180 000 ₸ per year or 18 000 ₸ per 30 days; the first 14 days of Pro are free. Paying yearly is 17% cheaper. There is no commission on orders; the one-off cost is printing the QR codes.
In Kazakhstan a QR menu is most often paid for by subscription, per month or per year. On User-QR the Starter plan costs 150 000 ₸ per year or 15 000 ₸ per 30 days, Pro costs 180 000 ₸ per year or 18 000 ₸ per 30 days, and the first 14 days of Pro are free with no card. Below: what the full cost of a QR menu is made of, how services charge for it, and how to work out the payback with your own figures.
User-QR prices: the short answer
| Plan | 30 days | Year | Menu items | Tables |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 15 000 ₸ | 150 000 ₸ | up to 100 | up to 10 |
| Pro | 18 000 ₸ | 180 000 ₸ | unlimited | up to 100 |
Both plans include a menu with photos in Kazakh, Russian and English, table ordering, options and nutrition facts, feedback in Telegram, analytics and QR codes for every table within the limit. Pro adds the delivery page with orders in WhatsApp, the venue's Taplink page, hall and room booking, Meta Pixel and the Poster POS integration. The full comparison is on the pricing page.
What makes up the cost of a QR menu
The subscription is the main item, but not the only one. The full cost for a year has several parts:
- The service subscription. On User-QR it is a fixed amount, for 30 days or for a year. Menu updates, languages and QR codes are already included.
- Printing the QR codes. A one-off cost: stickers, table tents or stands and a code on the packaging. The price depends on your print shop and the material. How to choose size and material is covered in our article on printing a QR code for the menu.
- Dish photos. You can shoot them yourselves on a phone in one session with our guide or hire a photographer. Photos are optional, but they make the menu clearer.
- Translation into Kazakh and English. Done once by your team or a translator; after that, edits happen in the admin with no reprinting.
- Time to launch. Registration takes a few minutes, and a full menu with photos is usually ready in one evening.
- Commission on orders. User-QR charges none: delivery orders reach your WhatsApp and the service keeps no percentage of sales.
How QR menus are paid for
There are several pricing models on the market. Compare what you would pay over a year at your turnover, not the figure on the website.
- A monthly or yearly subscription. The amount is known in advance and does not grow with sales. This is how User-QR works.
- A commission per order. You pay a percentage of every order placed through the service. Convenient at the start, but the more orders you get, the more it costs.
- A free plan with limits. Usually items or languages are capped, or the service shows its own advertising in your menu. Check what you give in return.
- “Price on request”. The price is quoted after a call with a manager, so you cannot compare in advance.
- A one-off payment for a PDF or an image behind a QR code. Cheap, but every price change means a new file, with no ordering and no analytics.
A detailed checklist for comparing services is in how to choose a QR menu.
Monthly or yearly: which is better value
On User-QR paying for a year is cheaper than twelve 30-day payments:
- Starter: 12 × 15 000 ₸ = 180 000 ₸, while a year costs 150 000 ₸. You save 30 000 ₸, or 17%.
- Pro: 12 × 18 000 ₸ = 216 000 ₸, while a year costs 180 000 ₸. You save 36 000 ₸, or 17%.
Monthly payment suits a seasonal venue (a summer terrace), continuing after the trial without paying a large sum at once, or testing the format at one location. Paid days are added to your current subscription term, and you can move from Starter to Pro at any time.
What you can get for free
User-QR has no free plan, but registration includes 14 days of the Pro plan with no card and no prepayment. That is enough to upload the menu, print test QR codes, try table ordering and delivery, and only then decide whether you need Starter or Pro. If you do not renew, the menu is paused, and your dishes, photos and settings are kept.
How to calculate the payback with your own figures
We do not quote “average” market amounts: printing costs and delivery turnover differ for every venue. Take your own numbers and compare two columns over a year.
| Today (no QR menu) | With a QR menu |
|---|---|
| Cost of one menu print run × print runs per year × number of languages | The yearly subscription (or 30 days × months you operate) |
| Aggregator's share × delivery turnover through the aggregator | 0 ₸ commission on orders through your own delivery page |
| The manager's time on layouts and approvals | Time spent on edits in the admin |
Take the print run cost from your print shop's last invoice and the number of print runs from last year: how many times you changed prices, dishes and the seasonal menu. More on the cost of paper menus in our article digital menu vs paper menu.
Which extras to ask any provider about
Before paying, ask the provider these questions and get the answers in writing:
- Do you take a percentage of orders or turnover?
- Do I pay extra for the second and third language, for more tables, for menu updates?
- How much does moving the menu from Excel or another service cost?
- What happens to the menu and the data if I do not renew?
- Do you provide closing documents for sole proprietors and companies?
On User-QR the answers are: no commission, languages and updates are included in the plan, QR codes for every table within the limit (10 on Starter, up to 100 on Pro) are included, import from Excel and by link from other services is self-service, and documents for sole proprietors and companies are provided on request. Terms for projects with more than 100 tables are agreed individually.
